What a human should see before approving a gate
A gate is only worth having if the AI hands the person enough to judge by — not a yes/no box. On any GATE action, a real human-in-the-loop tool puts all four of these in front of you, already compiled:
The vendor test: ask any AI vendor two questions — can it hand a person all four of these before it acts, and can you set the gates yourself, on the actions you choose? If the answer is no, you're being asked to rubber-stamp a black box. That's not a human in the loop; it's a human next to the loop.
The AI does the legwork and stops at the gate. You're not babysitting a black box — you're auditing finished work with the provenance attached, then making the call. The drudgery is the machine's; the judgment stays yours.
